Even and ringing, great for flatpicking or fingerpicking. While plain-looking, the sound is ratherexcellent. The guitar seems to be based on the L&HWashburn Style 101 “New Model” 1886 design. Here we have an amazing Parlor guitar from around the turn of last century from an unknown maker, this guitar appears to be in the style of parlor guitars made in Chicago during that era. “Dull oil finish, selected mahogany back and sides …”and a “mahogany finish” neck.

The Hubert Pleijsier Washburn book quotes anadvertisement as stating. This particular guitar is a Style G, serial#1371 it was introduced in 1923. (Washburn was the middle name of George Washburn Lyon.) It expanded into selling – and then making – instruments under the “Washburn” label.
